The run chase was dominated by India’s opening pair, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma. The duo compiled an 88-run partnership off 38 deliveries during the powerplay, taking control of the contest early in the second innings.

Sanju Samson 22 balls 57 led India victory: 

Sanju Samson led the attack, reaching his half-century in 20 balls and finishing with 57 runs off 22 deliveries, hitting seven boundaries and four sixes. Abhishek Sharma contributed 39 runs off 19 balls with two fours and four sixes. Following their dismissals by Rashid Khan—who claimed all three Indian wickets for 36 runs—Ishan Kishan anchored the remaining chase with an unbeaten 38 off 23 balls, while Tilak Varma added 15 not out.

Earlier in the match, Afghanistan reached 159/8 in 20 overs. Opener Ibrahim Zadran scored 37 runs off 33 balls, while captain Rashid Khan added a late 28 off 16 deliveries. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top bowler for India, recording figures of 3/24 in three overs. Arshdeep Singh picked up two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took one wicket each to restrict the opposition.
