His rise to 872 rating points pushed Jasprit down to second place with 862 points, ending JB’s 697-day collective stretch as the world’s top-ranked Test bowler. Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj dropped four spots to 18th position, while spinner Ravindra Jadeja moved down three places to 19th. Kuldeep Yadav fell 12 places to 26th. Conversely, young left-arm spinner Manav Suthar climbed 28 places to reach a career-best 48th rank after taking 10 wickets during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. Prasidh Krishna also gained two spots to move up to 53rd place.

Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant re-entered the top 10 Test batting rankings after climbing six places to joint-seventh alongside captain Shubman Gill. Pant scored back-to-back half-centuries in the Sri Lanka series to secure his return. Yashasvi Jaiswal slipped two places to 11th rank, while KL Rahul advanced five spots to 30th. Ravindra Jadeja retained his position as the world’s top-ranked Test all-rounder.
