CPI Narayana Slams BJP Govt Over RSS US Event Clearance

on

CPI National Secretary K. Narayana criticized the Central Government for denying political clearance to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s proposed official visit to the United States. Questioning the Ministry of External Affairs’ double standards, Narayana asked why travel restrictions were imposed on an elected Chief Minister seeking investments when RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was allowed to travel to New York. He demanded the MEA clarify its decision and uphold federal principles.

Communist party’s National Secretary K. Narayana issued an official statement condemning the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for denying political clearance to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the United States leg of his international tour. Narayana questioned the central government’s double standards, asking why clearance was withheld from an elected Chief Minister traveling to secure investments and educational partnerships while RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was permitted to travel to New York.

Central Explanation to CPI Narayana:

The Ministry of External Affairs stated that political clearance was withheld because the proposed itinerary and scheduled meetings submitted by the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office were considered “not appropriate” for the office held. In response, Narayana demanded that the MEA publicly clarify what specific meetings were deemed inappropriate rather than issuing generic administrative statements. He emphasized that blocking a Chief Minister’s official visit undermines cooperative federalism.

Following clearance approval for the United Kingdom leg of his tour, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy completed his engagements in London before returning directly to Hyderabad instead of proceeding to Boston and New York. To maintain continuity, the Chief Minister instructed the official state delegation to continue to the United States to execute planned meetings with academic institutions and sign scheduled Memoranda of Understanding.
