Bhadrachalam authorities in Telangana cracked down on political administrative fraud after arresting an official aide accused of running an extensive employment scam. Official police statements confirm that police arrested Bhadrachalam MLA PA Korla Kalyan Kumar following detailed victim complaints regarding alleged fake recruitment drives.

Bhadrachalam town police initiated legal action after victim Rayala Srinivas filed a formal fraud complaint against Korla Kalyan Kumar, who served as personal assistant to MLA Tellam Venkat Rao. Investigations revealed that the suspect duped fifty-four unemployed job seekers by promising lucrative government positions across state departments. To make the scam appear genuine, Kalyan issued fake appointment orders and collected between five lakh and twenty lakh rupees from each hopeful applicant, accumulating an estimated total of eight crore rupees.

Bhadrachalam Scam: Where Did The Defrauded Money Go?

After collecting massive sums from victims across the Bhadrachalam district, Kalyan reportedly switched off his phone and remained absconding for several days. Police tracking teams eventually apprehended him from a hiding spot. During interrogation, Kalyan allegedly confessed that he was heavily addicted to online cricket betting platforms and had lost the entire ₹8 crore while attempting to recover previous gambling losses.

Following the arrest, senior police officers urged unemployed youths and parents never to pay money to individuals promising guaranteed government employment. Authorities emphasized that official recruitment occurs strictly through transparent statutory examination boards. Furthermore, officials cautioned the public against illegal online betting apps, noting that gambling lures individuals into severe financial ruin.

Law enforcement agencies continue compiling victim statements to ensure complete asset recovery and strict judicial prosecution. The case highlights increasing police vigilance against employment scams across the state.
