320 People Still Missings in Nepal Floods; MEA On Missing Indians

The Ministry of External Affairs confirmed 320 Indian nationals and 100 Persons of Indian Origin remain uncontactable following severe flash Nepal floods. MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated 400 Indians stranded on the Chinese side are safe. Ground operations successfully evacuated 21 pilgrims from Tamil Nadu to Delhi, rescued 63 workers at the Trishuli-1 project, and facilitated 96 stranded citizens crossing into Nepal from China for further airlift operations.

Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed that 320 Indian nationals remain uncontactable across flood-affected zones in Nepal. Additionally, nearly 100 Persons of Indian Origin who undertook the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra with foreign passports are currently unaccounted for. The MEA emphasized that missing figures remain fluid as diplomatic missions in Kathmandu and Beijing continuously reconcile lists received from local authorities and family helplines.

Indian Rescue Continues in Nepal Floods: 

Rescue teams successfully evacuated 21 Indian pilgrims from Tamil Nadu, flying them from Kathmandu to New Delhi. Ground forces also rescued 63 Indian workers employed at the Trishuli-1 hydropower project site. Furthermore, 96 Indian citizens previously stranded on the Chinese border safely crossed into Nepal by land and await transport to Kathmandu, while 400 tourists on the Chinese side remain safe with active network connections.

The Ministry of External Affairs established a 24/7 central control room in New Delhi alongside dedicated emergency helplines at Indian embassies in Kathmandu and Beijing. Officials are coordinating with Nepalese security personnel and Chinese regional authorities to track uncontactable pilgrims, organize tunnel rescue teams, and dispatch military transport aircraft loaded with emergency relief supplies.
