Hyderabad Traffic Police announced major traffic alert and diversions across Hyderabad and Cyberabad on Sunday, August 30, due to the NMDC Hyderabad Runners Marathon. Traffic flow will be regulated or diverted between 4:30 AM and 11:30 AM along key routes connecting People’s Plaza, Khairatabad, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, and Gachibowli. Commuters are advised to avoid marathon corridors and take designated alternate routes.
Traffic restrictions will remain active from 4:30 AM to 11:30 AM along the marathon course. The full and half marathons flag off from People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, progressing through Tank Bund, Khairatabad flyover, Raj Bhavan Road, Somajiguda, Punjagutta flyover, Banjara Hills Road No. 2, KBR Park Junction, Jubilee Hills Check Post, Road No. 45, Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, and Mindspace Junction before culminating at GMC Balayogi Stadium in Gachibowli.
Alternative routes for commuters during Traffic Alert :
- Traffic from Begumpet towards Raj Bhavan and Banjara Hills will be diverted at Greenlands Junction towards D.K. Road and Ameerpet.
- Vehicles from Khairatabad heading towards Banjara Hills or Jubilee Hills should reroute via KCP Junction, Taj Krishna, Road No. 10 and 12, and Cancer Hospital Junction.
- Commuters from Cyberabad and the Cable Bridge heading towards Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 will be diverted at the Cable Bridge ramp towards Road No. 36 via Magnolia Bakery Junction.
- Traffic from Panjagutta towards Banjara Hills Road No. 2 will be diverted at NFCL Junction towards Taj Krishna.

Travelers moving between central Hyderabad and Cyberabad or Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) are advised to utilize the Outer Ring Road (ORR) or PV Narasimha Rao Expressway rather than arterial city roads. Citizens heading toward Madhapur and Gachibowli should plan extra travel time and track live traffic updates released by the Hyderabad and Cyberabad Traffic Police control rooms.
