TDP MLA from Nellore Rural, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, confirmed that Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy physically assaulted V. Vijayasai Reddy during a past YSRCP plenary meeting in Mangalagiri. Addressing a press conference, Kotamreddy stated that a heated argument broke out between the two over deciding stage speakers, leading Sajjala to physically strike Vijayasai. He further alleged that YSRCP created political instability in Andhra Pradesh while criticising their governance record.
Addressing a media conference, TDP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy verified former YSRCP leader V. Vijayasai Reddy’s claims regarding internal physical altercations within YSRCP. Kotamreddy explained that during the 2022 YSRCP Plenary meeting in Mangalagiri, an intense argument erupted between Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Vijayasai Reddy over deciding the speakers’ list for the stage. As the confrontation escalated in the green room, Sajjala physically grabbed Vijayasai by the collar and hit him.
Why did Sajjala assault Vijayasai Reddy?
Kotamreddy disclosed another incident where Vijayasai Reddy faced harsh criticism from Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. When Vijayasai visited Kakupalli Centre near his native village Thallapudi, supporters welcomed him with a 100-vehicle rally. Sajjala reportedly berated Vijayasai using offensive language for organising the grand welcome. Kotamreddy remarked that Vijayasai endured repeated public and private humiliations prior to stepping away from party affairs.
Kotamreddy accused the YSRCP of spreading fake videos and misinformation to discourage industrial investments and destabilize Andhra Pradesh under the NDA coalition government. He condemned the opposition for provoking communal tensions and questioned why YSRCP leaders remained silent during past incidents involving temple chariot fires and idol desecrations. He praised non-resident Telugus for returning to vote and securing a decisive historical mandate for the NDA alliance.
