A tragic road accident in central Kerala claimed 80 lives late Friday night after a high-speed car collided with a stationary lorry along National Highway 66. The fatal collision occurred near Panambikunnu Centre in Kaipamangalam when a seven-seater car rammed into parked lorry Thrissur bound, causing immediate fatalities among all occupants.

The incident took place around midnight on an under-construction stretch of National Highway 66 connecting Guruvayur to Kodungallur. Police confirmed that 80 individuals, including 7 engineering students from PSNA College in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, died following the devastating collision.

Local residents who heard the loud impact alerted local police and fire and rescue personnel immediately after the car accident.
