Former Andhra Pradesh Minister and senior YSRCP leader Botsa Satyanarayana broke down emotionally during a party workers’ meeting in Cheepurupalli. The emotional response followed discussions regarding his nephew, former Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad Chairman Majji Srinivasa Rao (Chinna Srinu), quitting YSRCP to join the ruling TDP along with his daughter. Botcha lamented the political betrayal by family members, while reassuring cadres that political leaders come and go, but the party framework remains permanent.
Botsa gets emotional and in tears during a cadre meeting in Cheepurupalli, as reported by news outlets. The emotional moment occurred when local party workers reflected on their long-standing association with Botcha’s nephew, former Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad Chairman Majji Srinivasa Rao (Chinna Srinu), who recently resigned from YSRCP to join the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Botsa Satyanarayana reveals the reason behind his nephew’s exit:
The political rift between the family members deepened over candidacy disputes for the upcoming local body elections. Reports indicate that differences escalated after Botcha announced his daughter Anusha as the candidate for the Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad Chairperson post, bypassing Majji Srinivasa Rao, who was serving as the YSRCP district president and sought the nomination for his daughter, Siri Sahasra.
Majji Srinivasa Rao officially joined the TDP in Undavalli in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh, alongside his daughter, as highlighted by The Times of India. Prior to his departure, Srinu held key positions within YSRCP, serving as the party’s Vizianagaram district president and Bheemili constituency coordinator.
Following his induction into the TDP, Majji Srinivasa Rao stated that his decision was driven by a desire to contribute to state development under Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership. Meanwhile, Botcha Satyanarayana consoled the emotional cadres in Cheepurupalli, emphasizing that individual leaders are temporary in politics while political institutions remain permanent, and urged party workers to stay united behind YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
