He was eventually dismissed for 108 runs off 34 balls after being caught by wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz off Rashid Khan. This marked his third career century in the T20I format.

By reaching three figures in 30 deliveries, Abhishek Sharma surpassed former Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s national record of 35 balls, set against Sri Lanka in Indore back in 2017. The performance also placed him ahead of South Africa’s David Miller and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza.

In the overall international T20 record books, Sharma’s 30-ball century stands as the third-fastest in history, behind Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan (27 balls) and Turkey’s Mohammad Fahad (29 balls).
