The Ayodhya Ram Temple theft case investigation included 173 witnesses. They included temple trust functionaries, personnel involved in counting donations, bank officials, security personnel, CCTV operators, chartered accountants and vendors. Investigators also examined CCTV footage, digital records, donation documents, banking records, property papers and forensic evidence.The probe also examined donated silver. Investigators looked into 200 kg of silver bricks, another consignment weighing 38.288 kg, a silver necklace, a pair of Charan Paduka and a copy of the Ramcharitmanas. Around 944.411 kg of silver sent for melting to the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd was also verified.

SIT Details Why Ayodhya Case Reached Court

SIT’s investigation followed allegations of unauthorised removal and misappropriation of offerings and donations received at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. The case was registered on June 25 against eight accused. The Supreme Court directed the probe to proceed expeditiously and required a forensic auditor to be included. Earlier, SIT told the court that CCTV footage had identified 105 alleged theft instances at the temple. The chargesheet filing now places the investigation’s evidence and allegations before the local court for further legal proceedings.
