4 Telangana men forced into Russia war after being deceived by fraudulent recruitment agents who promised lucrative civilian employment opportunities in Russia. The victims, originating from the erstwhile Nizamabad district, were fraudulently inducted into military units and deployed to frontline combat zones in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Fraudulent job agents approached the victims in India with attractive promises of security, driver, or army helper positions in Russia. Upon their arrival in Russia, military handlers seized their passports and travel documents, forcing them into mandatory military training camps before dispatching them directly to active combat zones near the Ukrainian border.
What Actions Are Telangana Families Taking To Save?
The affected families from Nizamabad district submitted urgent petitions to the Telangana state government and the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi. Relatives are requesting immediate diplomatic coordination with Russian authorities to cancel the forced military contracts and facilitate the safe repatriation of the trapped youths.
Recruitment fraud networks frequently target job seekers with fake overseas offers, leading to severe human trafficking and forced labor situations. Similar incidents have previously resulted in Indian casualties along battlefronts, prompting government advisories against unauthorized foreign employment agencies.
The Ministry of External Affairs continues diplomatic discussions with Russian military and diplomatic officials to locate trapped Indian citizens. Government officials strongly advise citizens to verify job offers through official embassy portals before traveling abroad for employment.
