KTR Says BRS Will Make Bigger Comeback Than Setback

on

KTR said the Bharat Rashtra Samithi would seek to recover from its previous electoral setback and contest the next Telangana Assembly election independently. Outlining the party’s political strategy, the BRS working president ruled out an alliance with the BJP and said former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would remain the party’s chief ministerial face for the next Assembly election.

KTR described electoral victories and defeats as part of politics and expressed confidence that the party could rebuild its support. His comments represent the BRS leadership’s political assessment rather than a prediction of the election result. The BRS has been working on organisational strengthening through membership enrolment, cadre training and booth-level activities. KTR has previously said the party reviewed shortcomings following its 2023 Assembly election defeat and was taking corrective measures.

KTR Raises Concerns Over Electoral Rolls And Delimitation

KTR raised concerns over electoral roll revision and future parliamentary delimitation, stressing that genuine voters should remain on the rolls while duplicate entries should be addressed through the Special Intensive Revision process. The BRS working president also argued that southern States should not lose their existing share of Lok Sabha representation because of their success in controlling population growth.

The BRS leader continued to criticise the Congress government’s record, alleging failures in implementing electoral commitments. Congress and BRS have repeatedly disputed each other’s claims regarding governance and policy performance in Telangana.KTR also maintained that BRS would continue to contest elections without an alliance with the BJP, reinforcing the party’s stated independent political strategy.

The BRS comeback Telangana narrative is therefore centred on organisational rebuilding, KCR’s continued leadership, electoral roll monitoring and opposition to any delimitation formula that the party believes would reduce southern representation. As Telangana’s next Assembly election approaches, these positions outline the BRS strategy, while the eventual electoral outcome will be determined by voters
