The Meteorological Department (IMD) today forecasts that rains likely in AP and Telangana will offer relief despite strange, sultry weather conditions sweeping the Telugu states. Following heavy rainfall caused by a recent depression, high humidity and morning heat dominate the region. However, active atmospheric systems continue to bring light to moderate rainfall, sudden thunderstorms, and lightning activities to multiple districts across both states over the next few days.
Weather officials report a active cyclonic circulation situated over north coastal Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas extending up to 1.5 kilometers above mean sea level. Simultaneously, a north-south trough line extends from north interior Karnataka through Tamil Nadu down to the Gulf of Mannar at an altitude of 0.9 kilometers, sustaining regional rain activity.
What Can Residents In AP, Yanam, And Rayalaseema Expect?
Meteorological predictions indicate isolated showers across one or two locations in Coastal Andhra Pradesh (AP), Yanam, and Rayalaseema. These rain events will be accompanied by localized thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and gusty surface winds reaching speeds between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour. Authorities advise people in exposed rural areas to remain cautious during sudden lightning displays.
Telangana will experience a stark temperature contrast throughout the day as morning periods deliver intense solar heating and humid conditions. Maximum daytime temperatures will reach around 34 degrees Celsius before declining to minimum temperatures of 24 degrees Celsius. The intense heat conditions will subside after midday as light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning develops across several districts.
