Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan are participating in the official inauguration ceremony at Madanapalle. The state government is rolling out the initiative as a massive 1 lakh crore multi-phase project designed to modernize the rural economy and elevate local horticulture standards to compete globally.
Which Key Crops Are Covered In Madanapalle Horticulture Hub?
The project in Madanapalle focuses on high-value crops including tomato, mango, banana, tamarind, pomegranate, dragon fruit, and avocado. To process and protect these yields, the hub incorporates advanced food processing units, cold storage networks, precision farming tools, and market intelligence infrastructure alongside the newly established Indian School of Agriculture, transforming Madanapalle into a modern agricultural hub.
The Global Horticulture Hub will advise farmers on demand-based crop cultivation strategies and provide technical guidance to optimize soil health and smart irrigation systems. Additionally, the facility will host dedicated incubation centers to mentor agricultural start-ups, foster scientific research, establish strong market linkages, and drive long-term farm productivity and profitability throughout Rayalaseema.
