The Andhra Pradesh DA hike has raised dearness allowance for State government employees and dearness relief for pensioners to 41.86%, following approval of two pending instalments carrying a combined increase of 4.55 percentage points. The first revision provides a 2.73% increase effective from July 1, 2024, raising the DA rate from 37.31% to 40.04%. The second adds another 1.82% from January 1, 2025, taking the total rate to 41.86% under the Revised Pay Scales 2022. The revised rate takes effect in cash from the September 2026 salary and pension, payable in October. This means eligible employees and pensioners will begin receiving the enhanced monthly amount without waiting for the entire arrears settlement. The arrears, however, will be paid in phases. For the 2.73% revision, 26 months of arrears are involved. Ten per cent is scheduled for April 2027, with the remaining amount divided across June, August and October 2027. Indian Pay Calculator
Andhra Pradesh Employees To Receive Higher Monthly DA Benefits
Andhra Pradesh employees will receive higher monthly DA benefits based on their basic pay, as dearness allowance is calculated as a percentage of basic salary. An employee earning ₹40,000 in basic pay would receive about ₹1,820 more per month following the combined 4.55-percentage-point increase. Employees with higher basic salaries will receive proportionately larger benefits under the revised DA structure.
The Andhra Pradesh DA hike therefore delivers an immediate increase in monthly pay while establishing a longer timetable for clearing outstanding dues through July 2028.The phased payment structure allows the State to spread the financial impact of accumulated arrears across multiple financial periods while employees immediately receive the revised DA rate.
