Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy wrote a detailed letter to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar regarding the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR). Expressing concern that nearly 92.86 lakh electoral entries face potential exclusion or verification notices, CM Revanth requested a four-week extension of the claims and objections deadline. He also urged the deployment of additional Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) in high-density urban areas like Hyderabad.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy flagged critical procedural issues in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Out of Telangana’s 3.38 crore registered electorate, over 73.39 lakh entries have been categorized under Absent, Shifted, Dead, and Duplicate (ASDD). Combined with 60.50 lakh digitised forms flagged for anomalies and 32.36 lakh unlinked entries, nearly 92.86 lakh voters—approximately one-third of the state electorate—face potential disenfranchisement or mandatory verification.
CM Revanth Mentions:
The Chief Minister highlighted that the current schedule from August 17 to September 16 provides insufficient time for voters, particularly migrant workers, daily-wage laborers, and elderly citizens, to respond to verification notices and submit supporting documents. He requested a four-week extension to the claims window and urged moving the final publication date beyond October 19 to allow electors at least three to four weeks to establish their eligibility.

CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Rangareddy districts account for nearly 58.6% of all ASDD entries in the state. To prevent administrative bottlenecks, he requested the sanctioning of additional Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and assistant staff, establishing helpdesks at the booth level, holding public readings of draft rolls during Gram Sabhas, and decentralizing hearing centers across high-density urban constituencies.
