Organized by American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD), Bhagwat highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s message on national destiny and emphasized that respecting diverse spiritual paths is core to Indian philosophy.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat stated that unity in diversity is fundamental to the shared DNA of both India and the United States. Speaking at the ‘Universal Oneness Celebration’ hosted at Madison Square Garden in New York, he noted that while pluralism defines American society, unity in diversity serves as the guiding principle of Indian civilization. He urged communities to move beyond merely accepting differences to actively celebrating and respecting diverse cultural perspectives.

RSS Chief recalled Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy:

The event was organized by American Hindus for Engagement and Dialogue (AHEAD). Addressing non-resident Indians (NRIs), Bhagwat recalled Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy that nations are defined by their spiritual purpose rather than geographic boundaries alone. He reiterated that all spiritual traditions lead toward a shared ultimate goal and emphasized that inclusivity is central to Hindu thought, calling upon diaspora members to fulfill their duties toward both their motherland and their adopted country.
