Jagan Slams Naidu’s Literacy Rate Data Claims

on

YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched a sharp attack against the TDP-led coalition government over recently published educational statistics. Releasing an official statement, Jagan slams Naidu literacy rate data as fabricated political propaganda designed to misguide the citizens of Andhra Pradesh.

The former CM stated that recent promotional claims made by the state government asserting an eighty-two point one percent literacy rate contradict reliable central government metrics. He highlighted that official data from the Periodic Labour Force Survey places the actual literacy level in Andhra Pradesh at approximately seventy-one percent, far below the figures publicized by the current administration.

How Did Jagan Respond To Claims?

Jagan criticized the ruling coalition for taking credit for sudden educational progress without implementing structural reforms. He maintained that the previous YSRCP government invested heavily in public school infrastructure through schemes like Nadu-Nedu and Amma Vodi, whereas the present government is relying on inflated numbers to mask operational delays in school development programs.

The confrontation underscores growing friction between the opposition and the ruling alliance over governance benchmarks in Andhra Pradesh. By directly contesting official state reports with central statistical figures, the opposition aims to hold the state executive accountable for transparency in public administration.

Education analysts suggest that public reporting of state development metrics must maintain total accuracy to ensure policy effectiveness. As political debates over statistical authenticity intensify across the state, citizens and independent experts continue to evaluate contrasting claims regarding educational performance in Andhra Pradesh.
