Inter-state thieves were among five suspects arrested in Adilabad after law enforcement authorities in northern Telangana dismantled an active criminal network involved in commercial burglaries. Official reports confirm that the accused were caught while attempting to liquidate stolen goods following a high-value store break-in. The arrests mark a major operational breakthrough in efforts to curb organised theft and commercial burglaries.

According to Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan, the suspects targeted an established commercial outlet located near the busy Ambedkar Chowk area. Using heavy iron tools including a spade, the culprits forcibly broke open the shop locks during late-night hours, looting multiple branded cigarette cartons and cash before fleeing the scene.

In Adilabad, police identified four accused as Kumawath Bundaram, Ghanshyam, Manikchand, and Laxman, all from Rajasthan’s Pali district. The fifth accomplice, Tejpal Singh, is a resident of Patancheru near Hyderabad. Law enforcement recovered stolen cigarette stocks worth Rs 5.35 lakh, Rs 60,000 in cash, three mobile handsets, a spade, and a four-wheeler allegedly used to transport the stolen goods.

Interrogation revealed that the members formed a syndicated network habituated to easy financial gains through repeated property offenses. Besides admitting to the Ambedkar Chowk heist, the gang confessed to carrying out similar commercial break-ins across neighboring districts of Maharashtra. Police detained the suspects based on actionable intelligence while they were attempting to execute another burglary in town.

Prompt police intervention successfully prevented further commercial burglaries across regional market centers. The district police department has remanded all five accused to judicial custody while continuing investigations into potential links with broader interstate burglary syndicates.
