Bharti Airtel announced a strategic restructuring of its postpaid service portfolio, raising plan tariffs by three to ten percent across various individual and family offerings. The telecom major confirmed that the updated tariff structure will take effect from October 8, 2026, impacting both new subscribers and existing customers across India.
Airtel decided to hike postpaid plan prices to drive subscriber premiumization, increase average revenue per user, and fund network infrastructure enhancements. The strategic adjustments allow the company to bundle higher-value digital services, including 5G Fast Lane connectivity, AI-powered anti-spam protection, and international roaming features directly into standard monthly billing tiers.
Airtel Hikes Monthly Postpaid Charges?
Airtel has increased its postpaid plan prices, with the basic individual plan rising from ₹449 to ₹499 per month. For family connections, the two-SIM plan increases to ₹749, while the three-SIM option costs ₹1,049. Four-SIM households will pay between ₹1,249 and ₹1,449, while the five-SIM family bundle rises to ₹1,799 monthly.
Subscribers gain access to built-in international roaming passes, anti-fraud security filters, and high-speed data allowances. Higher-tier options also bundle popular entertainment subscriptions, including OTT streaming access to platforms like Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar, providing enhanced value alongside the tariff increase.
Existing users can upgrade their account subscriptions directly through the Airtel Thanks mobile application or by visiting local authorized retail outlets. Non-customers seeking port-in services or new connections can apply through digital channels or physical stores nationwide, where customer support teams assist with plan transfers.
