AP Govt Issues Rain Alert Amid Depressions

on

Official directives confirm that the AP govt issues alert amid forecasted depressions forming over the Bay of Bengal to minimize risks to life and property. Meteorological reports indicate that an intensifying weather system is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall, strong surface winds, and localized flooding across low-lying coastal districts over the coming days.

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha explained that state authorities have directed district administration teams to activate round-the-clock emergency control rooms and prepare relief shelters. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority instructed municipal workers to clear drainage networks, keep sandbags ready near riverbanks, and monitor water levels in reservoir canals. Officials strictly advised fishermen to avoid venturing into rough seas and instructed residents living in dilapidated structures to relocate immediately.

How Will AP Teams Ensure Rapid Evacuations?

National Disaster Response Force and State Disaster Response Force platoons remain stationed in high-risk zones for rapid search and rescue operations under AP emergency management protocols. Meanwhile, AP municipal officers are conducting field inspections across vulnerable mandals to clear waterlogged roads, prevent power disruptions, and coordinate medical supplies to avert seasonal health outbreaks during intense weather events.

Meteorological experts continuously monitor satellite radar systems to deliver real-time atmospheric updates to AP state disaster monitoring units. These live updates ensure early warning tracking of forecasted depressions, enabling rapid emergency responses across coastal districts.
