Delhi AQI Hits 196 Reaching Severe Seasonal Peak

on

Delhi AQI hits 196 today as atmospheric pollution levels across the national capital rose to their highest point in over eighty-two days. Central Pollution Control Board readings confirm a clear upward shift in ambient air contamination across multiple monitoring zones. The current degradation in air quality stems primarily from a combination of slow wind speeds, stagnant atmospheric layers, absence of seasonal rainfall, and unmitigated localized emissions. Without active precipitation to settle floating particulate matter, air contaminants accumulate quickly across urban areas.

Air monitoring stations in Mundka, Narela, Jahangirpuri, and Okhla registered pollution readings inside the poor air quality category. Mundka recorded the highest concentration levels, while Delhi Cantonment recorded relatively lower pollution metrics compared to surrounding industrial and residential zones.

Will Delhi AQI And Weather Conditions Continue?

The India Meteorological Department forecasts Delhi AQI conditions alongside dry weather, with no expected rain throughout the upcoming week. Clear skies will gradually turn partly cloudy, while daily maximum temperatures are likely to remain between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius during daytime hours. Residents can expect continued heat, while air quality remains an important concern across the capital during the coming days.

Meteorological experts anticipate warm daytime temperatures alongside mild western disturbances arriving later in the month. While subtle temperature drops may occur, the lack of immediate rainfall means floating particulate matter will remain suspended, keeping overall regional air quality indices elevated across the national capital region.
