The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches across seven locations in Hyderabad and Kadapa in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the 2019 murder of former Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy, according to media. Officials raided premises linked to Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, and other suspects. The agency seized ₹24 lakh in unaccounted cash, locker keys, digital devices, and key documents.

The Enforcement Directorate executed simultaneous search operations across seven premises in Hyderabad and Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district as part of an ongoing money laundering investigation, as detailed by news outlets. The financial probe stems from the March 2019 murder of former Andhra Pradesh Minister and Member of Parliament YS Vivekananda Reddy, who was found dead at his residence in Pulivendula.

The enforcement action covered the residential properties and offices of YSR Congress Party Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy, his father YS Bhaskar Reddy, and several other primary accused in the underlying criminal case, according to coverage by news reports. Searches were also extended to premises associated with key suspects, including Devireddy Shivashankar Reddy, Yerra Gangireddy, and Sunil Yadav, alongside the residence of Shaik Dastagiri, who previously turned approver during the Central Bureau of Investigation’s inquiry.

Following the day-long operations, officials seized ₹24 lakh in unaccounted cash and two bank locker keys specifically from premises linked to Lok Sabha MP YS Avinash Reddy, alongside various digital storage devices and financial documents across all locations, as reported by national media.

The financial probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act was formally registered by the federal agency following chargesheets filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, as outlined by media outlets. Investigators are currently examining financial records and bank statements to trace potential hawala transactions, fund transfers, and illicit financial channels connected to the contract killing allegations detailed in court filings.
