Authorities seized loose palm oil, glycerol monostearate, skimmed milk powder, and cooking cream worth ₹7.19 lakh. Operations were halted due to severe hygiene violations and unrecorded milk sourcing.
Food safety authorities in Telangana uncovered synthetic paneer manufacturing across multiple processing units in Hyderabad. A joint task force comprising Food Safety Officers, police personnel, and H-FAST officials carried out coordinated inspection drives across 14 dairy manufacturing and retail facilities in the Hyderabad core urban region and surrounding districts.
The inspection teams discovered that several units produced synthetic paneer substitutes using industrial chemicals and vegetable oils rather than pure milk. Investigators also cited severe sanitation lapses, including pest infestations and missing raw milk procurement documentation needed to verify sourcing.

TG SAFE suspended the FSSAI operational licenses of three dairy units Laxmi Foods located in Gaganpahad, Dhana Lakshmi Dairy Products in Mailardevpally, and Natraj Milk and Milk Food Products in Alwal and even ordered an immediate shutdown of their business activities.
Show-cause notices were issued to Geetha Dairy and NARMUL (Mother Dairy) for operational lapses, while improvement notices were issued to Sri Mahalaxmi Kendra and Anitha Dairy to correct hygiene standards.
Enforcement teams seized adulterated stock and manufacturing chemicals valued at approximately ₹7,19,340. The confiscated items include nearly 1 tonne of loose palm oil, 476 kg of glycerol monostearate chemical emulsifier, 1,760 packets of Mavees Classic Premium Cooking Cream, and 150 kg of skimmed milk powder.
Inspectors recorded severe hygiene non-compliance at manufacturing sites. Facilities exhibited widespread cockroach infestations, housefly activity, blocked drainage systems, and damp walls, posing serious risks to public health.
Official samples have been sent for laboratory analysis to determine further legal penalties under food safety laws.
