Project officials acted after intense agrarian demonstrations and fresh upper Krishna basin inflows forced immediate action. Concurrently, a high-level Telangana ministerial delegation traveled to Bengaluru to meet Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar regarding Krishna allocations. To resolve the crisis and feed the vital Jurala canal system, the Karnataka government agreed to release seven TMC of water at 5,000 cusecs daily over thirty days to stabilize regional agricultural and drinking water supplies.
