KCR To Launch Irrigation Projects In Telangana

on

KCR and opposition politics in Telangana intensified as the main opposition party finalized its legislative and field action strategy ahead of state parliamentary proceedings. Official party communications confirm that BRS chief KCR will lead a movement over irrigation projects after the conclusion of the upcoming legislative sittings to highlight regional farming grievances.

Speaking to reporters following a high-level BRS Legislature Party meeting, former minister T. Harish Rao accused the ruling Congress administration of deliberately neglecting key water infrastructure. He alleged that despite adequate water availability, the state government refuses to operate the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation pumps. Furthermore, BRS leaders asserted that the government vindictively halted the Palamuru-Rangareddy project despite eighty percent of structural work being completed under the previous regime.

How Will KCR Lead BRS On Public Issues In Assembly?

KCR’s BRS legislators plan to aggressively challenge the state government on multiple public concerns during Assembly sittings. Key issues include alleged farmer harassment through Section 22A land classifications, unfulfilled farm loan waiver promises, unannounced power outages, and pending student fee reimbursements. KCR’s party has also demanded extending the session to allow thorough debate on policy failures.

Harish Rao defended the former Chief Minister’s decision, stating that public mobilization outside the house remains a valid political response. Drawing parallels to historic legislative boycotts by prominent political figures, he noted that direct public engagement on rural issues often yields stronger democratic mandates than participating in partisan floor debates.

Direct public mobilization marks a strategic shift for opposition leaders seeking to rebuild momentum across rural constituencies. Mass rallies planned across regional districts aim to center public focus on agricultural water security and rural infrastructure.
