Private retailer Nayara Energy increases petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre across its nationwide network of stations as international crude oil costs continue to rise. The company implemented the revised rates across its network of over 7,000 fuel pumps to narrow the gap between retail prices and higher procurement costs.
Nayara Energy increased petrol prices to offset rising procurement costs caused by sustained increases in global crude oil and fuel product prices, which severely strained retail profit margins for private energy suppliers. The price adjustment marks the second price revision by the private retailer this year. Nayara previously raised rates in March following supply disruptions in West Asia before rolling back the increase in July as global benchmark crude prices softened.
Nayara Energy Fuel Vs PSU Fuel Prices
Nayara Energy fuel prices are currently higher than state-owned competitors because state-run oil marketing companies, which control over 90 per cent of fuel pumps in India, have kept retail prices stable despite market fluctuations. Private fuel stations face distinct margin pressures compared to state-backed competitors during periods of global price volatility. The price hike comes as government officials advised private fuel operators against restricting sales, ensuring uninterrupted availability of petrol and diesel across the country.
Commercial LPG cylinders saw a price increase of Rs 62.50 per 19-kg unit, while aviation turbine fuel prices rose by Rs 16 per litre, reflecting broader upward adjustments across various energy sectors. Meanwhile, domestic LPG rates remain unchanged for residential consumers across the country.
