Osmania University ordered a probe into allegations that over 100 private colleges operated under irregular affiliations without submitting mandatory original documents. The action follows a complaint by Dr. Masaram Prem Kumar, founder-president of Christhava Jana Samithi, accusing inspection officials of accepting bribes and bypassing scrutiny across Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Vikarabad. Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Kumar instructed colleges to submit original land and lease documents by month-end for verification.

A major administrative controversy has surfaced at Osmania University following allegations that more than 100 private degree, PG, and professional colleges received operational clearances without submitting mandatory original documentation.
The allegations were brought forward in a formal complaint to university authorities by Dr. Masaram Prem Kumar, founder-president of the Christhava Jana Samithi. According to the complaint, university inspection teams colluded with private college management boards over the past six years, accepting bribes to issue unlawful affiliation recommendations.
Out of approximately 700 private institutions under Osmania University’s jurisdiction—including roughly 400 degree colleges and 300 postgraduate, pharmacy, and engineering colleges—over 100 degree colleges reportedly obtained approval without providing original land ownership records or registered lease deeds.
The complaint cited specific instances across multiple zones. A commerce degree college in Secunderabad reportedly operated without valid original papers since 2022. Additionally, 12 private degree colleges in Ibrahimpatnam and six in Dilsukhnagar were identified as operating under irregular clearances, alongside similar violations reported in the Keesara and Narayanguda sectors.

Responding to the charges, Vice-Chancellor Professor M. Kumar ordered a multi-district inquiry covering Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Vikarabad. The university issued a directive requiring all affiliated private institutions to submit their original land and lease documentation by the end of the month for verification.
Meanwhile, Dr. Prem Kumar demanded the immediate suspension of all inspection officials involved in granting wrongful approvals and warned of public protests if administrative accountability is not enforced.
