Russia Airstrikes Disrupt Dnipro Bridge Traffic In Kyiv

on

Russia air strikes Kyiv faced killed one person, injured two others and disrupted traffic across crucial bridges over the Dnipro River, as Moscow continued attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure. Kyiv authorities reported restrictions across several major transport links following the strikes. The Southern Bridge and Paton Bridge were closed to traffic, while partial restrictions were introduced on the Metro Bridge. The disruption affected routes connecting the eastern and western sides of the Ukrainian capital, forcing authorities to redirect vehicles through alternative crossings.

The latest attack followed Russian drone strikes on the Southern Bridge and a school in Kyiv a day earlier. Those strikes triggered fires and added to concerns over repeated attacks on infrastructure across the capital. More than 100 pupils at the school escaped injury because they were sheltering when the strike occurred.Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a fire broke out on the upper floors of an apartment building during Friday’s attacks. Other parts of the city also sustained damage.

Russia Targets Dnipro Bridge As Kyiv Traffic Disrupted

Russia’s Defence Ministry said its drones struck a bridge over the Dnipro River, a power station in the surrounding Kyiv region, the Izmail port near Odesa and a cargo vessel. Moscow claimed those sites were being used for military purposes. The bridges are important transport links across the Dnipro and carry large numbers of commuters. Their temporary closure caused traffic disruption and placed additional pressure on alternative routes through the city.

Ukraine has simultaneously continued drone operations against targets inside Russia. Ukrainian drones targeted industrial facilities in Volgograd, where a strike sparked a fire and one person was injured after an apartment building was hit, according to a regional governor. The latest Russian air strikes underline Kyiv’s continuing vulnerability to drone and missile attacks as Ukraine seeks additional air-defence capabilities. The renewed focus on transport and energy infrastructure also raises concerns about further disruption as winter approaches.
