The TGSRTC-Metro common pass has received mixed reactions from Hyderabad commuters after its launch, with passengers appreciating integrated public transport while questioning whether the pricing makes financial sense for regular travellers. The common pass was launched by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today. It allows passengers to use eligible TGSRTC city buses and Hyderabad Metro services through a single travel pass. The daily option costs ₹400, while the monthly pass is priced at ₹8,500.
The ₹8,500 monthly fare has become the main talking point among commuters on social media. Some users questioned whether passengers who do not make extensive journeys on both buses and Metro trains every day would save money by purchasing the pass. Others compared the price with their existing monthly Metro expenditure.
TGSRTC Commuters Weigh Benefits Of Common Travel Pass
TGSRTC commuters have also discussed the ₹400 daily common pass, which could benefit passengers making multiple journeys in a day, depending on their travel frequency. Several passengers welcomed the integration of Metro and RTC services, particularly for those relying on buses for first-and-last-mile connectivity before or after their Metro journeys.
The government says the initiative is designed to simplify transfers between buses and Metro trains while encouraging greater use of public transport. The common pass covers eligible RTC city services operating within the Outer Ring Road limits, but Pushpak airport buses are excluded. Hyderabad Metro journeys are also covered.
