Sai had previously worked as a driver in Hyderabad and incurred substantial debts before relocating to Bhimavaram. In a self-recorded audio message created shortly before jumping into the Godavari River, Sai revealed that relentless pressure and threats from individuals targeting their family pushed them to commit suicide.

In their final audio recording, Sai explained that a friend had given them a ring to pledge, which could not be recovered due to prevailing financial difficulties.
