Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is reportedly being considered to replace Mohanlal in Ajith Kumar’s upcoming action drama “Dare Devil”, directed by Adhik Ravichandran. The project marks another high-profile collaboration following the massive success of their previous gangster action entertainer, “Good Bad Ugly”. Discussions are ongoing to finalize his role alongside Ajith.
Why Is Unni Mukundan Replacing Mohanlal In Ajith’s film?
Initial speculation indicated that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was approached to play a pivotal character in the prestigious venture. However, due to scheduling conflicts and prior commitments, the makers are now in advanced discussions with Unni Mukundan to take over the crucial role alongside the Tamil superstar.
The film is directed by Adhik Ravichandran, who previously joined hands with Ajith Kumar for the hit film “Good Bad Ugly”. Marking a significant milestone, the project is officially bankrolled by Shalini Ajithkumar under her home banner Brave Hearts Production, serving as her debut venture as an independent film producer.
Sensational music composer Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the soundtrack and background score for the film. The production team has finalized pre-production work and scheduled the main shooting schedule to go on floors in November 2026. Industry insiders believe that bringing in a popular actor from the Malayalam film industry will significantly widen the pan-South appeal of the film. Official confirmation regarding the complete supporting cast and crew is expected to be released by the production house shortly.
