The notice was issued due to a typographical error in his father’s name on his voter ID card. The minister promptly responded to the BLO notice by submitting official supporting documents for correction, highlighting that election rules apply equally to all citizens.

During the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across Telangana, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) identified a clerical discrepancy in the voter card of Minister Ponnam. The error pertained to a misspelling in his father’s name. As part of standard verification procedures to ensure voter list accuracy, the electoral official issued a formal notice requesting clarification and rectifying documentation.

Minister Ponnam immediately acknowledged the notice and cooperated with the electoral authority. He submitted the required authentic identification documents to the officials to facilitate the necessary corrections on his voter identity record.
